Servies for Students
The university offers a wide range of services for students - from advisory service to semester ticket. Here you can find the most important institutions and departments with a short description of their sevices.
The AStA (Allgemeiner Studierenden Ausschuss) represents the student interests of all students at the university - with regard to the university management, administrative departments and lecturers, but also with regard to the Studierendenwerk and other organisations dealing with student affairs in the broadest sense.
In additon to the commitee work, the AStA offers advisory service for different topics, as well as events and courses. Furthermore, the AStA ist in charge of the cooperations with the public transport provider (RMV), a car sharing provider (book n' drive) and a bike sharing provider (DB connect). Last but not least, the AStA runs the student cafés Glaskasten and Zeitraum.

The h_da "hochschulsport" offers a wide variety of sports courses. Most of the courses are free of charge for students, for some courses a small amount of fees applies. In addition to the courses, students can use the Campus Sport Center in Dieburg.

The student trainer pool offers workshops and trainings from students for students. The topics cover a variety of skills relevant for studying and working. The majority of the courses is held in German.

The "Studierendenwerk Darmstadt" offers infrastructure, service and advice for the students of all universities in Darmstadt. They offer accomodation service and run the resident halls for students. Besides of that, they run the student catering and canteens in Darmstadt.
